When is the best time to swim at Wylie's Baths?
- Wylie's Baths sits below the high-water mark, so it's naturally flushed by the tide twice a day. If there's a decent swell, the pool can become rough and conditions may not be suitable for everyone.
- For calm water and those infinity pool vibes, visit between 3 hours before and 3 hours after low tide. On bigger swell days, that window may shrink to as little as 30 minutes either side of low tide.
- Wylie's is a living tidal pool, home to a natural rock bottom, fish, octopus, sea urchins and plenty of other marine life. Swim within your ability, and if you're unsure about the conditions, spend a few minutes watching the water before getting in—lulls between sets can be misleading.
- Love a bit of wave action? High tide is the time to visit. Just remember the northern wall (closest to Coogee Beach) is the most exposed part of the pool, where water rushes back out after waves break. Always follow the signage and be mindful of your swimming ability when conditions are rough.
